an overnight stay.
Ribblehead offers one of the most stunning
views of the Settle to Carlisle Railway. With such a backdrop
draw breath as one of the regular steam trains crosses the world
famous Ribblehead viaduct in full view from the back of The
Station Inn. The viaduct measures 104 feet high ; 440 yards
long ; with 24 arches it was built 1870 to 1875.
Quoting from the Settle
to Carlisle web site information on the viaduct.
"Ribblehead viaduct is the
largest and most famous viaduct throughout the whole of the
Settle to Carlisle railway line.. set in one
of the most beautiful and spectacular areas."
We have
a lot more besides - With numerous SSSI's and nature
