Station Inn News

A New Year!
2012 is set to be a busy and exciting time for everyone at The Station Inn as we look forward to some fantastic improvements to our pub and bunk barn accommodation. We hope to bring you more news very soon. We can't wait to get cracking on what will be a new phase in the history for this iconic building.
Expansion means we are on the look out for a chef. Have you ever fancied working in the Dales? experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. (Call Allan or Jo for an initial chat.)
As well as building renovations, we're looking to apply for wedding license so that those couples who come to us for their evening reception can also be married here against the backdrop of Whernside and the Dales. Terrific wedding photos for those that love the outdoors.
But for now, our cosy bar and restaurant is a special place to be over the winter period. Come and enjoy a drink by the fire among friends. We've got a great selection of real ales for you to try, as well as wine and spirits. Or, if you just fancy a coffee, or hot drink after a cold winter's walk, that's no problem. We very much look forward to welcoming you to The Station Inn. Visit our Sister Pub
We've also been busy taking on the management of a new pub The Craven Heifer at Stainforth, near Settle.
Like The Station Inn, it's a traditional Dales pub, serving great food, real ales and offering wonderful B&B hospitality to visitors. Call The Craven Heifer 01729 822599 for more information.

Walking
The Station Inn is perfectly located for those of you who plan to walk the surrounding hills. We are the place to stop to walk the famous three peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres - the highest peak in Yorkshire) and Ingleborough (723 metres).
An ideal place to take a break too for a huge range of walks - with our close proximity to Dales Way, Settle-Carlisle, Ribble Valley Way, Centurion Way, Pennine Way, and Alternative Coast to Coast.

Rail Enthusiasts
Why not take in one of the most fabulous stretches of the Settle to Carlisle Railway.
With the Visitor Centre just 150 yards from The Station Inn, we are your best stop off point, for a drink, some lunch, and / or an overnight stay.

Cycling
There are plenty of excellent bridleways and a variety of routes to be explored. Cycle alongside the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct on easy tracks by the railway or attempt more challenging climbs.
We offer bike hire at The Station Inn with bikes supplied by 3 Peaks Cycles in nearby Settle.

Dog and Dine!
Regulars to the pub will have met Tetley, our lovable black labrador whose favourite pastime is walking, not unlike many of the visitors who come and hike the hills that surround us! He has had a wonderful, turkey and sausage filled Christmas, but thankfully, he's managed to walk it all off on the hills.
Tetley has been the inspiration for our Dog and Dine offer - breakfast and dinners included for canine guests in the hotel or bunk barn. We just ask for a donation to the PDSA. Although Tetley remains chief taster for the Dog and Dine menu, he will be joined soon by a new addition to the Station Inn, a seven year old Springer Spaniel called Jasper!
